Welcome to Browne Class

Mrs Troupe and Mrs Jones

Welcome to 2026 and a new term !

This term, our learning will link to our topic ‘Dig, dig dig!’ and there is so much to learn about and explore! In History we will be learning all about George Stevenson and why he is important to the development of trains and railways. We will make mini-muffins in DT and explore human and physical features found in our locality and abroad as part of our learning in Geography. In Art we will be using Ben Giles as inspiration in creating collages and in RE we will unpack the question ‘For Christians, what is the Good News that Jesus brings?’ as well as exploring Easter traditions within Christianity.

In English we will continue our Curious Quests with Noodle and Titch and develop knowledge of words classes and conjunctions. We will be encountering new places and making new friends to help us along on our adventures. We won’t put too much detail here just in case The Greap is reading this!!

Please see the class newsletter for other information linked to our day-to-day class organisation and more in-depth information about our class curriculum. As always, please get in touch if you have any questions.

In English the Year 1 children have been working hard to to write two sentences, remembering a capital letter and full stop for each one. Year 2 children have been learning how adverbs can make their writing more interesting for the reader.

In History we have been learning about the Great Fire of London. We had lots of fun acting out the story of what happened.

We made fire engines with moving wheels as part of our DT topic.

In Science we worked in groups to create a collage of the seasons.

We took part in the Fundamentals PE Festival to develop our team work and games skills.

Children in Need

We learnt about the importance of teeth hygiene. We practised cleaning a very BIG set of teeth!
